Connie Beane Thrasher

CONNIE BEANE THRASHER, 74, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, just days before her 75th birthday. Born on July 26, 1950, Connie was a proud graduate of Weir High School, Class of 1968. She spent much of her adult life in Atlanta, Georgia, where she built a distinguished 32-year career with Delta Air Lines. After retiring from Delta, she continued to share her warmth and work ethic through retirement jobs at Publix Supermarkets and later at Gabe’s Department Store. For the past decade, Connie made her home in Weirton, West Virginia, where she embraced retirement with purpose and joy. She dedicated countless hours volunteering at Cove Presbyterian Church, the Weirton Christian Center, and serving on the Weir High School Reunion Committee. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life—she was a devoted member of Cove Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Paris Presbyterian Church. Connie’s life was defined by her deep love for her family and friends. She was known for her loving, caring, and compassionate spirit, always ready with a kind word or helping hand. She is survived by her loving sons, Clay Thrasher (spouse: Rebecca Thrasher) of Cave Springs, AR, and Christopher Thrasher (spouse: Tiffany Thrasher) of Dallas, GA, and her cherished granddaughters, Kate and Mackenzie Thrasher. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering support. Connie was preceded in death by her mother, Cyrena Nelson Neeley and step-father, Clair W. “Pete” Neeley. In the days to come, family and friends will gather to celebrate Connie’s life and the impact she made on everyone she met. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Cove Presbyterian Church, Weirton, where Connie dedicated much of her time and love. As we remember Connie Beane Thrasher, let us hold on to the memories of her unwavering smile, her generous spirit, and the love she gave so freely. She will be profoundly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those she touched. Connie’s wishes for cremation will be honored and performed at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home Crematory, Weirton. Share tributes with her family at www.grecohertnick.com.
