PUBLIC NOTICE

The City of Wellsburg Police Civil Service Commission is giving a Civil Service exam for the purpose of establishing a certified list of applicants for future openings in the position of Patrolman with the Wellsburg Police Department.
The City of Wellsburg offers a competitives salary, which includes holiday pay, sick days and vacation time, longevity pay, and health insurance and retirement plans.
Applications may be picked up at Wellsburg City Hall, 70 Town Square, Wellsburg, WV between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and are due back by Friday, August 22 at 4:00 p.m. A valid driver’s license and birth certificate must be presented at the time of application. All applicants must successfully pass a written examination and must be able to perform and pass a physical agility test prior to appointment.
A Civil Service Exam will be scheduled for August 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at 1447 Main Street, Wellsburg, where the Police Department is located.
