County Historical Museum and Culture Center Acquires New Items

The Brooke County Historical Museum and Culture Center has accumulated over 10,000 documented acquisitions. Recently, the museum has received Bethany High School composite pictures of graduating classes for the years 1934, 48, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, and 69. They have been added to the education department in the museum.

The next acquisition is a driving simulator with answer board; one of the original installed at Brooke High’s inception.
The third acquisition was a donation from a local family consisting of books and memorabilia from WWII and some from the Vietnam Era. This is an extensive collection which will be added to the military room.
Museum hours are Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. (closed holidays).
The museum closes for the winter on October 31 and reopens April 10, 2026. Programs or tours may be scheduled during the down time by calling 304.737.4060
