Michele Ann “Mickey” Soplinski

MICHELE ANN “MICKEY” SOPLINSKI, a bright light whose laughter echoed through the hearts of many, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, at the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born on March 15, 1958, in Weirton, she was a daughter of Vincent and Lorraine Glasure Soplinski and a cherished sister to her three siblings. A graduate from Burgettstown High School in 1976, and the Bradford School of Business, Michele had worked for several companies throughout her lifetime, including Semper Med in Florida, a title clerk in Robinson, the former Peoples Bank in Weirton, and completed her career serving as a Data Entry Clerk for the Weirton Steel Corporation. Known for her upbeat and joyful nature, Michele embraced life with an open heart, relishing the vibrant sounds of classic rock from the 70s and always seizing the chance to embark on boating adventures and travels. Her fond memories of sunny days spent in Florida were cherished, as were her delightful moments crafting and caring for her beloved cats. In addition to her father, Mickey was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. Michele leaves behind her mother, Lorraine Soplinski; her brothers, Vincent and Richard (Patricia) Soplinski, along with her sister, Veronica (Michael) Skinner, and nephews, Christopher (Kristen) Skinner, Aaron (Nicholas) Skinner, Bailey (Srishti) Soplinski, one great nephew, Jordan Skinner, and her beloved cat, Frankie. Friends were invited to visit Mickey’s family on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton, where her Liturgy of the Word Services were held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, with Fr.
