MYRNA LEE VENUS, 89, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Weirton Medical Center. She was born on March 28, 1936, in Natrona Heights, PA a daughter of the late Frank and Ruth (Donnell) McGinnis. In addition to her parents, Myrna is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Venus, Jr.; two brothers, Richard and Robert McGinnis; and one sister, Marjorie Mills. Myrna graduated from Har-Brack High School Class of 1944. She retired from REM where she was a caregiver. Myrna loved being a caretaker even out of work. She took on the name “mother” to all of her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking meals for everyone and spending time with her family whom she loved most of all. She is survived by three children: Beth (Shawn) McKinney and Jeffrey S. Venus both of Follansbee, WV and Tracie (Thaddeus) Koslik of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren, Aaron Koslik and partner Melissa Martinez and Samantha McKinney; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends whom she adored. Per Myrna’s request, there was no visitation. All services and inurnment were held privately at the convenience of the family.
