Pull Up A Chair

Have you heard of the Schumann Resonance? It is an amazing measured phenomenon showing how we affect each other and the energy around us. Sounds super far-fetched doesn’t it? And when I say “each other” I mean globally….. like people in Europe are affecting our air waves. Just the same, I mean people in the United States are affecting the air waves of folks in Asia!
Have you ever told someone they are in your personal space or crowds are not your comfort zone… or you need some alone time or crowds make you nervous or…told someone ‘don’t invade my space’? These are real scenarios. We literally can feel frequencies and vibrations coming off of other people.
Have you met someone or know a person that ‘rubs you the wrong way’? What does it mean? What if you just met the person for the very first time but you don’t feel comfortable around them for no ‘good’ reason? They haven’t done anything to you. You just met them.
Or have you been to an event where all of you there are excited about the person on stage? Or in a big stadium where professional players or college players are your favorite team and everyone there feels the same and there is such an emotional joy and excitement you just can’t put your finger on it but it is so alive and so invigorating. It’s as if it lifts you straight up and out of the daily muck. It’s like a spiritual experience. An outer body experience. It is completely NOT like being in your livingroom and watching the game or competition or concert. Now life has been breathed into it. Somehow. With all the energy of all the people the event has taken on a life of its own.
Has this ever happened to you? It is hard to explain. It almost makes no sense. It’s the same concert, the same sporting event, and you are the same person whether there or in your livingroom watching the same thing. There’s something magical that happens when people in large groups are experiencing the same emotion about the same thing.
What about being in church or at mass where all the people are taking communion together, or singing songs together, or hearing a certain sermon or message together? Doesn’t it feel stronger, I am your connection to God and His presence; isn’t it stronger at church? And you feel refreshed or renewed with new purpose and intent. You are ready to face the week.
There is power in number. There is a word called synergy. These are real phenomena when two or more are gathered. So, that brings us to this unusual term called the Schumann Resonance. Let me explain…..
Named after physicist Winfried Otto Schmann in1952, these are low frequencies that are measured between the Earth’s surface and the ionosphere. Most often they are generated by lightning strikes. As a matter of fact the resonances monitor global lightning activity and potentially applied to the study of climate change. Schumann made mathematical predictions by documenting the Hz. He discovered distinct peaks at extremely low frequencies and they corelated with certain wavelengths.
Without getting into a complete course of physics here, briefly I will say, Schumann showed the world resonant cavities and electromagnetic waves and how the lightning affected the ionosphere. And I am sure all of you remember learning that when lightening happens it is putting ions in the air. This is all part of his study along with our magnetic fields around the earth, amplitudes, microvolts, static fair weather electric field, diurnal variations and a bunch of other big words.
There are books written about this subject so I will have to make it brief for you. Basically, this resonance is a useful tool, a series of harmonics to measure earth’s weather, atmosphere, electric environment among many other analyzing opportunities. Its fundamental frequency is 7.83Hz which is earth’s natural resonant frequency of the electromagnetic field.
The significance of this is it provides direct study of interactions of objects in space. When there is a change in this 7.83Hz, we can measure the effect objects or interferences have on our earth’s magnetic field. Even more interesting, this 7.83 Hz happens to fall in the range of our own brain’s wavelengths called alpha and theta waves!!! (You know I am going to have to finish this next week right?)
In the meantime, digest what all I have laid out here for you already and feel free to do some exploring about this weird science called the Schumann Resonance. I will share with you more information about our brains, our emotions, our collective and our earth’s electromagnetic field. We may answer: Does it affect us? Do we affect it? Energetically speaking.
