Bethany College Dedicates Brooks Family Breezeway

Bethany College proudly dedicated the newly named Brooks Family Breezeway during the opening of its BC Pride Homecoming 2025 celebration, honoring distinguished alumnus, trustee, and loyal supporter Scott S. Brooks ‘78.
The breezeway, a historic connector through Old Main, was named in recognition of Brooks’ extraordinary leadership, generosity, and lifelong dedication to his alma mater. A devoted member of the Psi Chapter of Beta Theta Pi, Brooks has long embodied the values of Bethany through his service as a trustee, champion of athletics, and advocate for student success.
As chair of the College’s recent Build for a Lifetime Campaign, Brooks helped Bethany exceed all expectations, closing the campaign with $30 million in gifts and commitments—$10 million above its original goal. This included a remarkable $500,000 gift from the Psi Chapter Diamond Association Charitable Foundation.
“Scott, you embody the best of Bethany in your work and life, as well as in your extraordinary generosity, leadership, and love of your alma mater,” said Bethany College President Dr. Jamie Caridi during the ceremony. “Because of your dedication as an alumnus, trustee, Beta, and champion of the College, you have set the standard of excellence for current and future generations.”
In addition to his philanthropic leadership, Brooks has been an enthusiastic supporter of Bethany athletics, particularly both the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams, contributing to the growth and visibility of the programs on campus. Both teams were in attendance during the dedication ceremony, where it was announced that plaques honoring Brooks will be permanently installed in each of the lacrosse locker rooms as a lasting tribute to his impact on the programs.
The naming of the Brooks Family Breezeway stands as a tribute to a legacy of loyalty and leadership that has shaped Bethany’s past and will continue to inspire its future. The dedication ceremony opened Bethany’s Homecoming 2025 festivities and included remarks by President Caridi; Bethany College Board of Trustees Chair Ken Bado; Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Harold Pallone III; and Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach Molly Nuri.
