American Legion Post 34 to Host Veteran’s Day Event

On Saturday, Oct. 11 Post 34 Wellsburg American Legion was host to the Northern Panhandle American Legion Riders on their “Fun Ride” for the Northern West Virginia Toys for Tots.
We want to thank the riders and Toys for Tots for including us in the ride. Post 34 has a collection box for anyone wishing to donate any new, unopened toys or monetary donations. Toys are for 0-12 years old. There is a great need for toys in the 0-3 years old particularly.
Tuesday, Nov. 11 is Veteran’s Day. This is a day to salute all our veterans, past and present. Post 34 will be honoring all veterans and a special honor will go to its oldest, active veteran, Ray McLaughlin.
The Post invites everyone to this special event on Veteran’s Day at 1 p.m. held at Central Park (18th Street, between Charles and Main streets) in Wellsburg. A small public reception will be held at Post 34 immediately following. Food will be provided by Post 34 members and also donated by Riverside Barbecue and the Paradise Lounge.
The Post would like to thank Riverside Barbecue and Paradise Lounge for their generosity to the community and honored veterans.
