MILDRED “MICKEY” MARTICH, 93, of Weirton, WV, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Born November 7, 1931, in Weirton, she was one of three daughters born to Joe and Milica Divich Wujnovich. A graduate of Weir High School, Class of 1949, Mickey faithfully served as Class Reunion Treasurer for many years. Her deep faith was central to her life as a lifelong member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church in Steubenville, where she was also a former member of the Petar Krstich Choir for many years. Mickey married Korean War veteran, George Martich, with whom she shared 65 wonderful years until his passing on October 20, 2018. George served as the Vice President of the former Bank of Weirton and Mickey cared for their home. Together they were blessed with two sons, four grandchildren and a great grandson. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mickey was preceded in death by her sisters, Smiles Zarich and Jenny Musulin; and her niece, Melissa Rosato. She will be remembered with love and admiration by her sons, John (Juka) Martich and Dr. G. Daniel (Lisa) Martich; grandchildren Milan, George (Monica), Aleksander, and Dr. Stephanie Martich; her great-grandson Gino George Martich; many nieces, nephews, Kumovi, and dear friends. Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton. A pomen service was conducted immediately following visitation on Wednesday in the funeral home. Additional visitation was held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 until the time of the funeral liturgy, at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church, Steubenville, OH, with the Very Rev. Fr. Rajko Kosic presiding. Entombment followed at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
