SANDRA LOUISE VANHORN, 78, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at White Oak Healthcare in Warren, OH with her family by her side. She was born on June 7, 1947 in Jersey City, NJ the daughter of the late Stephen Armstrong and Lola (Jackson) Armstrong. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Richard “Jack” Vanhorn; brother Hugh Jackson; sisters Barbra Curran, Penny Riggler. Sandra was a devoted homemaker and a member of the Voice of Pentecost Church in Weirton, WV. She was also an avid volunteer with the Community Bread Basket in Weirton. Her world was her family, especially loving and watching her grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Melanie (Tyler) Handy of Archdale, NC, Betty Vanhorn of Weirton, WV, and Steven (Twila) Vanhorn of Wintersville, OH; grandchildren: Nate (Bethanie) Vanhorn, Jonah Handy, Abbie Handy, and Braxton Vanhorn; great- grandchildren: Zane and Lainey; and two sisters, Morien and Dorien. The family would like to extend a heart felt thank you to White Oak Health Care and Harmoney Hospice for their excellent care of Sandra during this difficult time. Visitation was held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at The Voice of Pentecost Church, Weirton, until the time of the service, with Pastor Rob Holley officiating. Interment followed at St. Paul Cemetery, where Sandra was laid to rest. Arrangements were entrusted to the Mullenbach Funeral Home.
