PUBLIC NOTICE

CITY OF FOLLANSBEE, WEST VIRGINIA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Follansbee, West Virginia, a municipal corporation, will hold a public hearing before the final vote on a proposed Ordinance, the principal object of which is the increase of water rates for customers of the water system operated by the City of Follansbee, West Virginia.
The title of such Ordinance is “An Ordinance Establishing and Fixing Rates, Fees, and Charges of the Municipal Water System of the City of Follansbee, West Virginia”.
THE FINAL VOTE on adoption of said proposed Ordinance shall be held in the Council Chambers of the City of Follansbee, Follansbee Municipal Building, 872 Main Street, Follansbee, West Virginia, 26037, on Monday, December 15, 2025, at six o’clock (6:00) p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard. All customers and interested parties are invited and may appear and speak before Follansbee City Council and be heard at such time with respect to the passage of the proposed Ordinance and present protests, if any. Copies of the proposed Ordinance are available for public inspection from Monday through Friday (except holidays), from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Offices of the City Clerk and the City Manager, Follansbee Municipal Building, 872 Main Street, Follansbee, West Virginia, 26037.
The new water rates that the City of Follansbee is proposing to charge are:

RATES
Each 1,000 gallons at $16.14 per month.

MINIMUM CHARGE
No bill will be rendered for less than $24.21 per month, which is equivalent to 1,500 gallons. A customer’s minimum water bill will be rendered according to the size of meter installed, as follows:

    5/8     inch meter   -   $24.21 per month
    3/4     inch meter   -   $36.32 per month
    1        inch meter   -   $60.53 per month
    1 ½    inch meter   -   $121.05 per month
    2        inch meter   -   $193.68 per month
    3        inch meter   -   $387.36 per month
    4        inch meter   -   $605.25 per month
    6        inch meter   -   $1,210.50 per month
    8        inch meter   -   $1,936.80 per month

SALE FOR RESALE
All water for resale will be billed at $7.35 per 1,000 gallons used per month.
