NOTICE OF APPLICATION

The City of Wellsburg Police Civil Service Commission is accepting applications for an upcoming Civil Service Exam which will be held December 20, 2025, at 1447 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV at 10 a.m., for the purpose of establishing a certified list of applicants for future openings in the position of patrolman with the Wellsburg Police Department. The physical test will be held the following day on December 21, 2025, at 10 a.m.
The City of Wellsburg offers a competitive salary, which includes holiday pay, sick days and vacation time, longevity pay and health insurance and retirement plans.
Applications may be picked up at the Wellsburg City Hall, First Floor, 70 Town Square, Wellsburg, WV, 304-737-2014, Monday thru Friday between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and are due back no later than December 19, 2025, at 4 p.m.
Applicants must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license and birth certificate present at the time of application. Prior to hiring, applicants must submit to a psychological examination, polygraph, and background check.
