DELORES JANE (NICHOLSON) DEGARMO, 75, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully at her daughter’s home with her family by her side on Friday, November 21, 2025. Born March 16, 1950, in Woodsfield, OH a daughter of the late Edward R. and Betty Jane (Hooper) Nicholson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband David Earl DeGarmo in 2017 and an infant sister, Baby Nicholson. Delores was a member of the Evangel Baptist Church in Weirton, WV. She retired from Brooke County Schools where she worked as a cook and custodian. Delores loved to camp, travel, and shop at all the thrift shops. Surviving are three children: David (Jeannette) DeGarmo of Weirton, WV, Kathy (Richard) Hess of Wellsburg, WV, and Betty Henry and companion Stephen Sacker of Follansbee, WV; fourteen grandchildren: Desiray (Timmy) Hartley, Derek and Dustin (Kayla) Degarmo, Kayla, Emily, and Jacob Coen, Deekota Degarmo, Terry Chapman, Jr. and fiancé Patience Harshey, Cody (Alyssa) Chapman, Morgan (Slade) Takach, Jasmine Nolan, Braiden Varlas, Keyerah Henry, Eli Robl; nineteen great grandchildren: Isabella, Elizabeth, Ethan, Allie, Landon, David, Ruger, Michelle, Ella, Sophie, and Hudson, Cydney, Anna Lee, and Oaklee, Luna, Jamie, Bill, Dawson, and Jeremy, and one on the way Mercy; four siblings: Edward (Lesa) Nicholson, LouAnn Taylor, Judy (Richard) Henry, and Cindy (Ronald) Henry, all of Wellsburg; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Wellsburg, with Nathan Marshall officiating. Arrangements by Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee.
