Dorothy Jean Lahita

DOROTHY JEAN LAHITA, 85, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Wellsburg Healthcare Center. Born October 16, 1940, in Weirton, WV a daughter of the late Thomas Woodrow and Mary Irene (Ribbett) Caldwell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond “Flash” Lahita; her daughter, Cathy Jo Lahita; six brothers: John, William, Charles, Earl, Robert, and Edmund Caldwell; and four sisters: Florence, Mary, Betty, and Martha Caldwell. She graduated from Weir High School in 1958 and went on to work at the former Genpack and Mammoth Plastics for several years. Dorothy was a founding member of the Hooverson Heights Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary. She attended the Calvary Baptist Church with her daughter and enjoyed playing cards and games with family and friends. Dorothy is survived by her three children, Robin Lahita at home, John “Flash” (Dina) Lahita and Raymond (Beth) Lahita, all of Follansbee, WV; four granddaughters: Raeann (Levi) Doyle, Kaitlyn Lahita, Estella, and Johnna Lahita, all of Follansbee; two great grandsons, Jameson and Raymond; one brother, Harry (Donna) Caldwell; one sister, Ruth Ann Jeffries; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. There was no visitation. A private memorial service was held at the Calvary Baptist Church, Follansbee, with Pastor Tim Colvin officiating. Arrangements by Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee.
