William “Bill” Spencer

WILLIAM “BILL” SPENCER, 70, of Wellsburg, WV passed away January 17, 2026, at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born April 23, 1955, in Wheeling, WV to Carl “Sonny” Spencer and Violet Irene Friend Blake. Bill retired from Weirton Steel Corporation where he worked in the tin mill, and was a member of the Wellsburg Moose Lodge and a lifelong camper at Tappan Lake campgrounds. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Michael Spencer. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cathy Hood Spencer; his son, William “Bill” Spencer (Amy) of Weirton, WV; his daughter, Melissa Lancaster (Steven) of Wellsburg, WV; a brother, Carl Spencer (Judy) of Wellsburg; two sisters, Kathy Speece (Thurman) of Wheeling, WV and Shirley Spencer (Aaron Jones) of Wellsburg; four grandchildren: Jaxon Spencer, Kyle, Brandon, and Jacob Lancaster; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg. The funeral service was held Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the funeral home with Christinia Parnell officiating. Interment followed at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Wellsburg.
