Geraldine Carmella “Geri” Taibi

GERALDINE CARMELLA “GERI” TAIBI, 94, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Weirton Medical Center with her devoted children by her side. Born September 9, 1931, in Follansbee, WV a daughter of the late Paul and Concetta (Marcogliese) Andreozzi. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bartholomew M. “Bart” Taibi; her son-in-law, James E. Sullivan; three brothers: Domenic (Sara), Paul (Jean), and Elmer (Ann); three sisters: Albena Karnage (John), Mary Ormsby (Nick Andreozzi) (Clyde Ormsby), and Helen Gaudio (Joe); five nephews: Tom and Midge Andreozzi and their daughter, Tonia, Greg Andreozzi, and Anthony Andreozzi, and Michael and David Iafrate; three nieces: Antoinette and Steve Mackzo and their son Stevie, Lucille Andreozzi, and Kim Taibi; and six brothers-in-law: Pete and Babs, Joe and Dora, George and Norma, John and Hazel, Sam and Helen, and Albert Iafrate. Geri graduated from Follansbee High School in 1950 and worked for many years at Brooke Catering. She volunteered for many years at the Brightwood Nursing Home, for the Brooke County Senior Center after school program, St. Anthony funeral luncheon program, and Weirton Breadbasket. She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. In her spare time, she loved dancing with her friends at the former Spinning Gears Senior Dancers. Geri is survived by her three children: Donna Taibi-Sullivan and Lisa Chiodo of Wellsburg, WV, Samuel P. Taibi of Follansbee, WV, and James M. Taibi and wife, Kris Williams of Des Moines, IA; five grandchildren: Brianna Taibi and Alex, Gabriel Taibi, Jordan (Baiploo) Taibi, Jared (Kristin) Taibi, and Marsha (Scott) Smith; five great grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Theresa Iafrate of Warwood, WV; her grand dogs, Abby Aka “Moonpie” and Sandy; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews. Geri also had 12 God Children which is a testament to the respect and faith she had in raising children along with her own children with the understanding and belief in God. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Paula, Peggy, Natalie, Sheila, Sunny, and Vicki, and her past caregivers, Joyce, Sharon, Alma, Marsha, Barb, Terissa, Connie, and Shelly, and Ila. Visitation was held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. A vigil service was also held on Friday at the funeral home. A Catholic funeral mass was celebrated on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, with the Rev. Father Gerald Muoka as celebrant.
