Richard Michael Kearns

RICHARD MICHAEL KEARNS, 71, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away peacefully, January 31, 2026 at Cleveland Clinic with his family at his side. Richard was born on February 14, 1954 in Wheeling, WV. He was the son of the late Daril Kearns and Stella Mae (Clark) Kearns. Richard worked as a self-employed constructor and took great pride in his work. He will be remembered for his tireless work ethic and the countless hours he spent tinkering with trucks and John Deere. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shadow Dawn Kearns and a sister, Betty “Pip” Francis. Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann (Cunningham) Kearns; three children: Shawn Kearns, Sr. and his wife, Christie, Sherry McAllister and Lisa English; three step-sons: Shawn and his wife, Stacy, Robert and his wife, Tracy and Michael; five grandchildren: Shawn Kearns, Jr. and his wife, Sondra, Blake Kearns and his wife, Jessica, Morgan Hestand and her husband, Justin and Isabella Bake; three step grandchildren, Sabrina, Hope and Robert, Jr.; six great grandchildren: Jaxson, Raelynn and Jaelynn Temple, Georgya Waugh, Blake Kearns, Jr. and Shawn Kearns III; three step great grandchildren, Aeirona, Mason and Louie; a brother, Daril “Butch” Kearns and his wife, Shirley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., at Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, with Reverends Roger Lancaster and Steven Horner co-officiating.
