MELANIE ANN JOHNSON, 50, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at home with her family by her side. Born August 17, 1975, in Steubenville, OH a daughter of the late Joseph Paul “Corky” Johnson and Virginia (Rowland) Haddon of Follansbee, WV. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her stepfather James “Nub” Haddon. She graduated from Brooke High School in 1993. She formerly attended the Brooke County Opportunity Center and competed with Brooke County Special Olympics. In her spare time, she liked to listen to music, watch tv, and work word search puzzles. Melanie is survived by her mother, Virginia Haddon at home; one brother, Joseph L. Johnson of Follansbee, WV; a niece, Misty (William) Dickson, and a nephew, Drake Johnson; a great niece, Mariah Dickson, and great nephew, Josh Hudson; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 until the time of funeral services, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee, with Rev. Dan Harry officiating.
