Theresa “Dolly” Young

THERESA “DOLLY” YOUNG, 70, beloved mother, sister, and friend to so many people, passed away peacefully at her home on May 5, 2026. Born on January 28, 1956, in Weirton, she was a daughter of Frank and Jessie Fray Marshall. Dolly’s warm spirit and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. A graduate of Madonna High School in 1974, Dolly dedicated many years of her life as the dental office manager for Drs. Welsey Pate, James Fraser, and Ryan Starkey, where her caring nature made a significant impact on both her colleagues and patients. Deeply committed to her Catholic faith, Dolly served Blessed Sacrament Church and her community as a eucharistic minister to Wintersville nursing homes and as the leader of the group Grief Share, providing empathy, comfort, and support to those in need. Dolly cherished her family and friends above all else, being one of six children and a devoted mother to her daughter, Stephanie. She fondly remembered the trips to Nags Head at the Outer Banks, where she created lasting memories with her loved ones. Although she faced the loss of her beloved husband, Loyld, on May 30, 2014, Dolly’s spirit remained strong, reminding all of us of the power of love and resilience. Dolly’s profound faith brought her inner peace, and her overwhelming kindness and compassion will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. In addition to her parents and husband Lloyd, Dolly was preceded in death by her brothers Tom, Robert, and Jack Brown and sister Joan Craig. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Dr. Stephanie (Trenton) Young of Morgantown, sister Sandy (Dick) Glover of Brookfield, OH, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and fellow parishioners. Friends were invited to visit Dolly’s family on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton, where a Vigil Service was also conducted. Additional visitation was held Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Wintersville, OH, where Dolly’s Mass of Christian Burial was also held, with Fr. Michael Gossett presiding. Interment followed in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Share online condolences at www.grecohertnick.com.
