John Robert McCulloch

JOHN ROBERT MCCULLOCH, 70, of Weirton, WV, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Valley Hospice in Steubenville, OH, surrounded by his loving wife, son, daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. Born on December 1, 1955, in Brooklyn, NY, John was the son of the late Juan Roberto McCulloch and Maria Dolores Martinez McCulloch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, John “John Junior” McCulloch. John had a deep love for fishing, which was more than a hobby—it was his passion. He cherished teaching his family not only how to fish, but also how to appreciate the peace and beauty found on the water. A talented carpenter and woodworker, John took great pride in his craftsmanship and the work of his hands. He also enjoyed cooking, sharing his knowledge in the kitchen with his wife, coin collecting, stained glass artistry, working on cars, and riding his motorcycle. John was a man of many dimensions—strong yet tender, straightforward yet deeply thoughtful. Above all else, his greatest joy was his family. He loved his children, Sean and Vanessa, and his grandson, Nicholas, with all his heart and treasured the time he spent with them. He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Diahann Vanessa Beverly McCulloch; his son, Sean McCulloch; his daughter, Vanessa Doyle and her husband, John; his grandsons, Nicholas and John; his sisters, Melba, Margie, Miriam, Marilyn, and Maira; and his brother, Angel. In accordance with John’s wishes, no visitation was held. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Weirton.
