LORETTA JEAN FABIAN “WAGGLE”, 83, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, departed this life on June 2, 2026. Born on July 12, 1942, in Middlebourne, West Virginia, Loretta embraced life with grace and a spirited determination. Loretta devoted many years of her life to serving others as a Ward Clerk at Weirton Medical Center, where her compassion and dedication were noticed by the lives she encountered. She was a testament to the value of education through hard work. Loretta’s vibrant spirit and dedication led her to become the director of activities for the skilled care unit at WMC, ensuring that residents found joy and companionship in their daily lives. As a lifelong member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Loretta was actively involved with the Christian Mothers, where her faith and commitment to community were evident. She also participated in the American Legion Post 10 and Moose Lodge 688, forging connections and friendships that enriched her life. Loretta’s love for social gatherings was shown in her involvement with a local card club, where she shared laughter and camaraderie with friends. Lovingly remembered as a “classy lady” and a “social butterfly,” Loretta possessed a warmth that made her well-liked by all who knew her. In addition to her family and friends, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and community spirit. She is survived by her son Michael (Susan) Fabian; brothers Michael Lonchar and Milan Ingram; sisters Sara Wournaris, Donna Belcastro, and Kathy Lipscomb; granddaughter Heather (Zac) Howard; grandson Steven (Brittney) Fabian; and great-grandchildren Parker Nickell and Brooks Howard. Loretta was preceded in death by five siblings as well as her late husband Stephen Paul, father Kesley Waggle, and mother Mary Ingram. The family received visitors for a public viewing Thursday. June 11, 2026, at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton. A Liturgy of the Word service will be held at Greco Hertnick Funeral Home with Father Dennis R. Schuelkens Jr. officiating on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11 a.m., with a procession to follow. She will be buried at St. Paul’s cemetery. There will be a celebration of life held at the VFW in Weirton July 5, 2026 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Valley Hospice.
