WV Governor’s Schools to Incorporate Special Activities for America’s 250th Birthday

As part of the national Semiquincentennial celebration, several of the 2026 West Virginia Governor’s Schools will incorporate special America250-themed activities and programming this summer, giving students the opportunity to explore the nation’s history, culture and innovation while preparing for future careers.
Approximately 350 students have been accepted into one of the five Governor’s Schools  hosted at college and university campuses across the state.
