Top Scams in WV During September

Top scams in West Virginia during September have been compiled by the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division.
For the month of September, the division received 226 scam complaints.
The top 5 scams reported were:

  1. Medicare – Offering grocery, food vouchers or card,; additional benefits or inquiring if the consumer has Medicare Parts A & B.
  2. Robo Call – Loan approval, final funeral expenses, extended warranty, etc.
  3. Social Security – Posing as the Social Security Administration…
