REVEREND KEVIN L. BOWERS, 67, of New Cumberland, WV passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Weirton Medical Center. He was born February 28, 1956, in Charleroi, PA, the son of the late Vernon and Ellamae Owens Bowers. Kevin was a graduate of Milligan College, Milligan, TN where he earned his Bachelors degree and also Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, IN, having earned his Masters of Divinity degree. During the period between his degrees, he taught elementary education with the Mount Lebanon, PA school district. He retired as Pastor from First Christian Church, Weirton, WV after 27 years, 1991-2018. He was a friend to so many … just a good guy. Surviving is his wife of 27 years, Diane Fields Bowers; brothers, Howard Bowers (Sandra) of Indianapolis, IN, Paul Bowers (Janet) of Mount Lebanon, PA; brother-in-law, Greg Fields (Kathryn) of Houston, TX; niece, Julie Bowers; nephews, Jim Bowers, Will Fields, Ben Fields (Catherine), John Fields (Erika), Scott Fields. Visitation was held on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Weirton. Additional visitation was held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, at First Christian Church, Weirton, with Reverend Thaddeus Allen and Reverend Mark Mayer presiding.
