ROBERT D. (DOUG) PLATT, 70, of Wellsburg, WV died June 13, 2023, at Weirton Medical Center. He was born August 14, 1952, in Steubenville, OH the son of Robert M. and Patricia (Wertz) Platt. Doug graduated from Brooke High School class of 1970. Following graduation, he worked at Banner Fiberboard company for 30+ years. Doug was an avid train collector and converted half of his basement into an extensive train layout. In addition, he enjoyed skiing, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his ex-wife Phyliss Platt. Surviving in addition to his companion Sharon Boyce are his two sons, Joseph and Douglas; three grandsons: Matix, Josh Boyce, and Zach Smith; one foster grandson, Arch Newman; two granddaughters, Haily Boyce and Hannah (Calvin) Burdine; and Sharon’s children: Beverly (Pat) Smith, Sheila (Rick) Barrett and Leonard (Karen) Boyce, all of Wellsburg; and several other family members in Ohio. A private service was held at Reasner Funeral Home.
