WILMA ESTHERINE (FORNARI) VARGO, 92, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Weirton Medical Center. Wilma was born on July 25, 1930, in Wellsburg, WV, a daughter of the late Arthur and Edna (Blankensop) Fornari. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward Sr.; and two sons, Edward Jr., William “Bill”, and a son in law, Bob Thomas. Wilma graduated from Wellsburg High School Class of 1948. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Alpha Theta Chapter of Alpha Pi Sorority. Wilma spent her time as a homemaker taking care of her family. Wilma is survived by three children, Thomas Vargo, John (Linda) Vargo, Kathy Thomas and companion Jay Potter; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Aaron), Eddie, Joey, Heidi (Anthony), Chad, January (Stephen), and Michelle; fifteen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; one brother, Arthur (Betty) Fornari; and three nephews, Mike, Chris, and Todd; and many friends whom she stayed in close contact with till the very end. Visitation for Wilma was held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 until the time of the Funeral Liturgy of the Word, with Rev. Fr. Justin Golna officiating, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. Interment followed at Franklin Cemetery.
