DELLA MAE “NAN” VANMETER, 87, of Weirton, WV passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH. She was born February 1, 1936, in New Martinsville, WV, the daughter of the late Ross and Evadna Pyles Postlethwait. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, John T. “Pop” Van Meter (2007; sisters, Maxine Poole, Lois Saffle, Shirley Greiner, Pauline Weipert; brothers, Paul Postlethwait, Sherrill Postlethwait, Sherwood R. Postlethwait. Nan was a member of the Weirton Heights Church of Christ; she was a wonderful Christian woman. Her grandchildren were her life. Each grandchild was fortunate to have her love and guidance in their lives. She was a great homemaker that loved her home and made it a home. Surviving is her daughter, Meshelle VanMeter (Mike Palmeri); sons, Michael Postlethwait (Natalie), Steve VanMeter (Ronda), Rick VanMeter (Melissa); 12 grandchildren, Melissa and Tiffany, Marissa, Blaine, and Kamden, Michael, Andrew, Thomas, Alexander, and Kenneth, Bailee and Jaden; seven great grandchildren; sister, Loretta Bradley; her beloved cat, Miss Kitty. Visitation was held Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Weirton, where the funeral was held Friday, July 21, 2023, with Evangelist Steve Smithbauer presiding.
