Connie Alice (Smith) Ice

CONNIE ALICE (SMITH) ICE, 64, of Springfield, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday,August 12, 2023 at Carlin Springs Health and Rehabilitation, Arlington, VA. Connie was born on May 14, 1959 in Bellaire, OH. She was the daughter of the late Reverend James H. and Edith (Wildman) Smith. Connie worked for the Army Airforce Exchange Services and later at Fairfax Public Schools. Many will remember Connie for her love of Jesus, her family, serving in the Nursery, and knitting. In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Lynn Smith. Connie is survived by her husband, SFC (Retired USA) Wayne F. Ice Sr.; her son, Wayne F. Ice Jr.; four sisters: Janet Janos of Bridgeport, OH, Patricia Crawford and Debra Heatherington, both of Zions Crossroads, VA and Gloria Zanes of Tiltonsville, OH; five brothers: James Smith of Dillwyn, VA, Dale Smith of Columbus, OH, Donald Smith of Rayland, OH, Ray Smith of Bellaire, OH and Tim Smith of Nappane, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received on Saturday, August 19, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg. Interment followed at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Beech Bottom. In addition to the local funeral service, a memorial service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 10 a.m., at Calvary Church, Annadale, VA.
