ROBERT V. WAGONER, 83, of Weirton, WV passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Weirton Medical Center. He was born April 4, 1940, in Cairo, WV. He was the son of the late Perry Francis Wagoner and Nora Odessa Davis Wagoner. Robert was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Sharon Lynne Becraft Wagoner (2015); sisters, Betty, Letty, Dorothea “Gay”, Dessie, Doris; brothers, Perry J, Orlan Roy, John F, Olan, Ron. He served his country in the United States Air Force, having served in Turkey. He graduated from Follansbee High School in 1958. Robert retired from the plant protection department of Weirton Steel Corp. Surviving is his daughters, Lisa Wagoner, Kimberly LaPosta (David), Melissa Miller (James); sons, James Wagoner, Jason Wagoner (Penny); grandchildren, Kevan LaPosta (Chelsea), Kaylee LaPosta, Kasandra Kowcheck (Logan), Brandon Wagoner, Cody Wagoner, Justin Wagoner; great grandchildren, Linden, Alaina, Artemis. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Weirton, where the funeral was held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, with Pastor Steven Hlatky presiding. Interment followed at New Cumberland Cemetery with military funeral honors rendered by American Legion Post No.10 and the United States Air Force.
