CHARLES GLENWOOD THORNE, 76, of Wellsburg, WV formerly of New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on September 1, 2023. Charles was born March 8, 1947, in Red Bank, New Jersey to the late Glenwood and Bernice LeMasters Thorne. He was a retired mechanic for the Government Civil Service and was a Marine Veteran serving during the Vietnam War and also served 30 years with the US Army Reserves. He is survived by his wife, Ellen A, Rush Thorne; one daughter, Theresa Ann Thorne of Wellsburg, WV; Quasi-daughter, Tonya Blasiman-Lansberger of Salem, OH; two brothers, Dennis Thorne of New Martinsville, WV and Donald Thorne and Iona Beagle of New Martinsville; two sisters, Ann Little and Dennis of Browns Valley, MN., and Donna Thorne of Key Port, NJ; two grandchildren, Jenna Herrman and Ridge Sr., and Jared King; great granddaughter, Gracie Rae Herrman; and great grandson, Ridge Herrman Jr. A memorial service was held September 9, 2023, at Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV until the time of the service, with Pastor Nelson Ngongo officiating.
