Robert “Bob” Theodore Mizok

ROBERT “BOB” THEODORE MIZOK, 86, of Wellsburg, WV sadly left us on September 4. 2023 following a long battle with illness. While his wife and children loved to tease him about his stubbornness, this was far exceeded by his love for his family. Bob deeply loved his wife of 56 years, Carolyn, and would say he would have been lost without her. He enjoyed telling people that he first saw his wife at a bus stop and knew she was the person he wanted to marry. He always said that the most important life goals he had were to get married and have children. He enjoyed teaching his children “real and useful” life skills, such as home and car maintenance, wood working, and also furniture repair and preservation, the profession in which he was employed for 53 years. Bob loved transporting his children to and from their various activities and watching them succeed. He and Carol were their children’s biggest supporters and would be the ones cheering the loudest for them. Bob also loved his grandchildren and enjoyed regaling them with bits of history and trivia that he learned. He loved spending time with his family, baking, clapping and dancing to polka music, learning and sharing about history and trivia, and debating with others, especially when he could take an opposing point of view. He was a Christian and enjoyed debating his thoughts about politics, Christianity, and religion. Bob is survived by his wife, Carolyn Vincent (Yost) Mizok; his four children: Roberta J. (Robert) Fedoush, Rhonda J. (Jeremy) Taylor, Robert J. (Jennifer) Mizok, and Richard J. (Tina) Mizok; five grandchildren: Jonathon (Sarah) Fedoush, Benjamin Fedoush, Ethan Crabtree, Sarah Taylor, and Aiden Mizok; two siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Gabriel Taylor, parents Paul and Margaret (Straka) Mizok, in-laws Phyllis (Miller) and Donald Coen Sr., and three siblings. Family and friends were received on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg. Interment followed at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg.
