SHEILA ANN (LEWIS) LAZEAR, 86, of Richmond, VA, formerly of Beech Bottom, WV, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2023 at Manorhouse Assisted Living and Memory Care, Richmond, VA. Sheila was born on September 22, 1936 in Youngstown, OH. She was the daughter of the late Donald P. Lewis and Ann E. (Karn) Lewis. Sheila was a 1954 graduate of Wellsburg High School and graduated in 1998 from Wheeling Jesuit with a BS in Accounting. She worked many years at Wheeling Stamping Company, Wesbanco and Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Credit Union in clerical administrative work. Sheila was a former member of Beech Bottom Community Christian Church. Many will remember Sheila for her love of sewing, crafting and reading; but most of all, she also took great joy in visiting her grandchildren in Tennessee and Virginia. In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Elwood Lazear, two brothers, Carl and George Lewis, and a brother-in-law, Gary Gambuti. Sheila is survived by her two children: Robert Scott Lazear and his wife, Stephanie of Franklin, TN and Marianne Mohn and her husband, Jim of Richmond, VA; three grandsons: Robbie Lazear and his wife, Danielle of Cincinnati, OH, Patrick Lazear and his wife, Natalie of Chattanooga, TN and Nathan Mohn of Richmond, VA; three great grandchildren, Laurel, Lacy and Trey Lazear, all of Cincinnati, OH; two sisters, Linda Lewis of New York, NY and Elissa Lewis of Springfield, MO; a sister-in-law, Judy Lewis of Beech Bottom, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received on Friday, September 29, 2023 and again on Saturday, September 30, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, with Ron Davis officiating. Interment followed at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Beech Bottom. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Sheila’s Memory to the Alzheimer Association, C/o Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV 26070. Special thanks to the staff at ManorHouse Assisted Living and Memory Care for the loving care they provided to Sheila over the last six years.
