William S. Bartley, Jr.

WILLIAM S. BARTLEY, JR., 86, formerly of Wellsburg, WV, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2023, at a senior living community in Coraopolis, PA, under the care of the staff with the assistance of Advanced Hospice. Bill was born on February 26, 1937, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the son of William S. Bartley, Sr., and Dorothy Mae (Butler) Bartley. Bill served proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He owned and operated TruChem, Columbus, OH. Bill was a member of the Scottish Rite , Valley of Columbus, Grand Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons, Worthington, OH, and Aladdin Temple – A.A.O.N.M.S. Of Columbus, OH. He was also a former member of the First Baptist Church of Wellsburg. Bill graduated from West Liberty University where he was awarded as the most distinguished student. Many will remember Bill for his love of the Pittsburgh Pirates as well as the Steelers. He was a ten year participant in the Pirates Fantasy camp. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, James W. DeMaria of Follansbee. Bill is survived by his three children: Michael Bartley and his wife, Mary Beth, Jennifer Baker and her husband, Dr. Paul, and Stephen Bartley; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received on Sunday, October 1, 2023 until the time of the funeral service, at the Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, WV with an Ohio Masonic Rite. Interment followed at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, with Military Honors with the WV Army National Guard and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
