SONDRA LEE “SANDY” MANKOWSKI-MYERS, 82, of Weirton, WV passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023 at home surrounded by her family. She was born July 6, 1941 in Steubenville, daughter of the late John and Josephine Masiak Mankowski. Sandy was a Registered Nurse, Nurse Educator and Professor who worked at Weirton Medical Center, WV Northern Community College, Kent State University and UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. She was a longtime member of Sigma Masters Sorority and valued the friendship she had with her sorority sisters. She was also a member of Memorial Baptist Church and many bridge clubs. Sandy was up for any activity especially when it involved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was the center of her life. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, George Myers, who took excellent care of her until the end; children, Tina Cutone, M.D. (Rachel Gilman, M.D.), Edward M. Cutone III (Joan), Tammy Aftanas (Bruce), and Terri Neeley; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Martina Ledzinski (late Jerome). Per Sandy’s wishes, there was no visitation. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
