THOMAS EDWARD MOFFIT, 69, of Colliers, WV, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Thomas was born on November 8, 1953 in Webster Springs, WV. He was the son of the late Gerald “Jerry” Moffit and Goldie Edna (Skeens) Moffit. Thomas graduated from Rayen High School, Youngstown, OH. He also graduated from Eastern Gateway Community College in Mechanical Engineering and Drafting Design. Thomas worked at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel as a Mechanical Planner. Many will remember Thomas for his love of singing and playing his guitar; but most of all, his dedication and devotion to his family. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Madeline “Debbie” (Miller) Moffit of Colliers, WV; two sons, Kristopher Moffit and his wife, Laurie of Follansbee, WV and Michael Moffit and his wife, Kelly of Colliers; five grandchildren: Marissa, Nicholas, Kyle and wife, Melissa, Kody and wife, Destiny and Kory and wife, Hannah; four great grandchildren: Sophia, Wylie, Wyatt and Miley; a sister, Nancy Harding of Niles, OH; and three nieces and three nephews. Family and friends were received on Friday, October 6, 2023, at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee. In lieu of flowers the family requests donating to a charity in Thomas’ Memory to be a living remembrance of his life.
