MARY M. DENNIS, 92, of Weirton, WV passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Laurels of Steubenville. She was born January 21, 1931 in Tyler County, WV, daughter of the late Clarence and Hazel Haught Gorrell. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Gene Dennis (1996); seven brothers and four sisters. Mary was a member of Weirton Heights Church of Christ. She loved attending church and singing the beautiful hymns. She also loved reading in her spare time. Mary is survived by sons, Mark E. Dennis (Linda) and Jon L. Dennis (Rhonda), all of Weirton; grandchildren, Lynsay Guida (Mike), Ryan Dennis, Michael Dennis (Kayla), Erica Lyons (Jake) and Josh Dennis (Kristen); great-grandchildren, Vinny, Bryson, Mckenzie, Nolan, Amelia, George and Cora; and sister, Josephine Gorrell. Visitation was held Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home, Weirton, where the service was held Wednesday, October 18, 2023, with Evangelist Tom Derby presiding. Interment followed at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Mary’s family wishes to thank Dr. Makar and the wonderful staff at the Laurels for the compassionate care for Mary through the years.
