DOROTHY J. “DOTTIE” MARKLE, 80, of Weirton, WV, passed Friday, January 12, 2024 at Weirton Medical Center. She was born February 13, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Claire Trost and Ruth Kohlmeyer Jones. She is also preceded in death by her son, David Dennis (2023). Dottie was a member of Weirton Heights Church of Christ. In her younger years, she worked in the offices of Weirton Steel Corporation. Later in her life, Dottie loved serving customers at Rax restaurant and WalMart’s automotive department. Dottie also owned her craft business and sold crafts out of G.C. Murphy’s for many years. She also loved making floral arrangements for weddings. Dottie was filled with empathy and care for all, especially as caregiver for her mother for a number of years. She loved to travel and camp with her husband, Terry, and vacationing and spending time with her grandkids. Dottie is survived by husband, Terry Markle; son, Brian Dennis of Columbia, PA; grandchildren, Tanner, Laken, Alexa and Madison Dennis; and brother, Clair Trost (Donna) of Monongahela, PA. Visitation was held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 until the time of the service, at Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home, Weirton, with Evangelist Steve Smithbauer presiding.
