SILVIO GABRIEL PAESANI, 93, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Weirton Medical Center. He was born on September 11, 1930, in Follansbee, WV, a son of the late Andrea and Anna (Chiefeca) Paesani. In addition to his parents Silvio is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Paesani; four sisters: Elizabeth Gaudio, Rose Zende, Mary Gasperine, and Philamena Prosperi; one son, Michael; and one grandson, Christopher Paesani. Silvio was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel as a millwright and later worked for Follansbee Police Department as a police officer. Silvio is survived by one son, Richard Paesani of Follansbee, WV; four grandchildren: Silvia, Elizabeth, Mike and Richard; five great grandchildren; one sister, Dora Gates of FL; one brother, Andrew (Judy) Paesani, Jr. of Wheeling, WV; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 4–7 p.m., at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee. A Vigil service will be held at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 10 a.m., at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee, with Rev. Fr. Gerald Mouka officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee. Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
