CHERYL ANN ROSSO, 80, of Follansbee, WV, a loving wife, mother, and grandma died peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Weirton Medical Center. She was born on December 3, 1943, in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Charles “Chuck” and Jane (Shipley) Sinovcic. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank V. Rosso. Cheryl graduated from Steubenville Catholic Central High School. She graduated from WVNCC with an associate’s degree as a registered nurse and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Wheeling Jesuit University in nursing as well. Cheryl worked at Weirton Medical Center and the highlight of her career was when she was the Charge Nurse of the Endoscopic unit at WMC. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. In her spare-time she enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed the kindness of her daughter-in-law’s family the Newtons and her trips to visit her daughter Karen, son in law Ashley and grandchildren in South Carolina. Cheryl is survived by two children: James (Mary Margaret) Rosso of Wellsburg, WV and Karen (Ashley) Haskins of Summerville, SC; six grandchildren: Dante Rosso of New York City, NY, Isabella, and Sophia Rosso of Wellsburg, Victoria, Anna, and Frank Haskins of Summerville, SC. Visitation was held on Friday, February 9, 2024, with a vigil service following, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee and again on Saturday, February 10, 2024. A Catholic Funeral Mass was held Saturday, with Father Gerald Mouka officiating, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Follansbee. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church in memory of Cheryl.
