WILLIAM DAVID “BILL” CROSS, JR., 75, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Wellsburg Health Care in Beech Bottom, WV. Born on August 24, 1948, in Weirton, WV, a son of the late William D. and Virginia (Sacripanit) Cross, Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Nelson. Bill retired from Bethany College where he worked for many years as a cook and server. He was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church in Wellsburg, WV. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his granddaughter’s playing cards and monopoly. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jane (Frisco) Cross; two sons, William (Carrie) Cross and Nick (Amy) Cross, all of Wellsburg, WV; one brother, George (Janis) Cross of Wellsburg; four granddaughters: Carlie Cross and fiancé, Wayne Folk, McKenzie Cross, Caitlyn Cross, and Madison Cross; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 until the time of funeral services at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee, with Pastor Lawrence Kimball officiating. Inurnment was held privately at the convenience of the family.
