ALVAH “RUSS” RUSSELL SCHWERTFEGER, 96, of Bethany, WV passed away December 18, 2024, at Liza’s Place, Wheeling, WV. Russ was born June 13, 1928, in Wellsburg, WV to the late Charles and Katherine Garrison Schwertfeger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Schwertfeger, and sister, Cleo Wilson. Russ retired from Brooke County Schools where he worked for over 30 years.
