ALBERTA MARIE (FOX) COLLEY, 87, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Trinity Medical Center,Steubenville, OH. Alberta was born on June 30, 1937 in Sistersville, WV. She was the daughter of the late Charles Andrew Fox and Audra Mae (Summers) Fox. Many will remember Alberta for being the former President of the Wellsburg Art Association arranging Art Shows at Bethany College and the Wellsburg Library, in addition her work designing the Brooke County Seal; but most of all, Alberta was everything to her grandchildren playing dress up,baking for them and always playing her guitar. In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her dear and loving husband, Melvin on September 19, 2024. Alberta is survived by her two children, Kathy Buono and her husband, John of Follansbee, WV and Melvin A. Colley, Jr. and his companion, Kathy Stewart of McKinleyville, WV; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Family and friends were received on Thursday, January 9, 2025 until the time of Words of Comfort, at Chambers Funeral Home, Wellsburg, with Funeral Celebrant Eric Fithyan, followed by a simple cremation.
