FRANCES PRESCOTT, 86, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Weirton Medical Center. Born May 17, 1938 a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Prescutti) Polimeni. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her mother who raised and cared for her all of her life, Mary Ruth Morris; her brothers Paul and Michael Morris; and sisters, Barbara Williams, Sally Boyd, and Martha Mae Bowman. Frances graduated from Follansbee High School in 1956 and retired from Eagle Manufacturing where she worked in packaging. She also handled a big load of duties at the Anderson Home where she lived her entire life. Her church meant a great deal to her and she was very active in the Foundry Church and had a great deal of support from her church family. As a resident of Brightwood Center for several years she was active in all their activities and made many friends with residents and staff. Frances is survived by her Anderson Home siblings: Josh Swartz, Ronnie Cecil, and Margaret (Frank) Morrison; nephews, John Cox and companion, Eberle Lazear, and Matthew and Nathanael Morrison; great nieces, Jessica Cox and Blake Benedict; and several great-great-nieces and nephews, including Cassandra Ruth Cox, Ledger Cox, Jayden Morrison, Owen Morrison, and Kai Morrison. Visitation for Frances was held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 until the time of funeral services, at the Foundry Church, Wellsburg, with Pastor Dave Kiester officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Anderson Home in care of Josh Swartz, P.O. Box 343, Follansbee, WV 26037.
