CATHERINE LOUISE “KITTY” SOMERVILLE CARPENTER WEAVER, 95, of Follansbee, WV died peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Liza’s Place in Wheeling, WV. Born April 14, 1929 in Spencer, WV a daughter of the late Willis and Elah (Greathouse) Somerville. Kitty was a longtime member of the Follansbee Church of Christ and Brean Sunday School where she also enjoyed singing in the choir and Christmas Cantada. Kitty was a strong woman of faith who was Blessed by God with two loving husband’s who preceded her in death Clifford Carpenter in 1998 and James Weaver in 2021. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Billy, Harry, and Robert Somerville and one sister, Mary Strickland. Surviving are her two children, Donna (Paul) DiBiase of Steubenville, OH and Robert (Mary Beth) Carpenter of Follansbee, WV; four stepchildren: Randy (Cindy) Weaver of Reynoldsburg, OH, Marla (Gary) Mercer and Penny (Churck) Foose, both of Wellsburg, WV, and Darak (Jana) Weaver of Brownsville, TX; two brothers, John and Jim Somerville; two sisters, Betty Scarberry and Doris Easter; four grandchildren: Robert (Paula) Carpenter, Clint (Sarah) Carpenter, Alexis (Ryan) Santangelo, and John (Denise) Hendrickson; nine great grandchildren: Ben, Ethan, Emma, Crosby, Kaitlyn, Robbie, Kaleigh, Greyson, and Addison; one great-great grandson, Atalas; eight step-grandchildren; six step great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee, and again on Monday, February 17, 2025 until the time of funeral services, at the Hooverson Heights Church of Christ, Follansbee, with her son, Robert Carpenter, and Marvin Whiteman officiating. Interment followed in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee.
