LYDIA MARIE (LASSAN) MURRAY, 85, of Hopedale, OH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at her residence under the care of her family with the assistance of Valley Hospice. Lydia was born on December 5, 1939 in Weirton, WV. She was the daughter of the late Julius Lewis Lassan and Ida Valerie (Horvath) Lassan. Lydia started to work at Harry’s Dairy Bar after graduating from High School where she met the love of her life, Edward William Murray, Sr., which led to 65 years together. She went on to work at the Scio Pottery. Lydia will be remembered for being a full-time mom to her five children, along with her deep faith in Jehovah God. She attended and witnessed as a member of the Cadiz Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She enjoyed reading books from the library, word search puzzles, knitting, crocheting and sewing. In addition to her parents, Lydia was preceded in death by her brother, David Lassan. Lydia is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Edward William Murray, Sr.; five children: Sherry Ragets and her spouse, Stanley, April Jackson, and Polly Murray, all of Hopedale, OH, Tammy Tuckosh and her spouse, Doug of Amsterdam, OH, and Edward William Murray, Jr. of Hopedale, OH; seven grandchildren: Stanley Ragets and his spouse, Kelly of Louisiana, Matthew Ragets and his spouse, Kayla of Cadiz, OH, Mark Ragets of Weston, WV, Mikayla Jackson of Hopedale, OH, Kaleah Jackson of Cleveland, OH, Jesse Tuckosh and his spouse, Mayme of Omaha, NE, and John Tuckosh of Amsterdam, OH; a brother, Robert Lassan and his spouse, Becky of Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews.
