ROBERT “BOB” WESLEY FONNER, 80, of Wellsburg, WV passed away March 21, 2025, at WVU Weirton Medical Center, Weirton, WV. Bob was born September 13, 1944, in Wheeling, WV to the late George and Leah Mahan Fonner. Bob worked for Eagle Manufacturing as a machinist for 41 years and severed as their Steel Workers Union Local 15229 representative for over two decades. Bob was a United States Army Veteran where he was selected for the Presidential Honor Guard for John F. Kennedy. Bob was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers William “Bill” Fonner, and George Fonner. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Brenda Tarr Fonner; one son, Robert Ronald Fonner and Michelle of Wellsburg, WV; one daughter, Tammy Sue Fonner of Wellsburg; grandchildren: Sarah DeLong and Jason of Wellsburg, Keith Fonner and Aneda of Follansbee, WV, and Ashley and Sean Sands; and four great grandchildren: Oliver and Decklin Fonner, and Jalen and Maci Sands. Visitation was held Tuesday, March 25, 2025 until the time of the service, at Reasner Funeral Home, Wellsburg, with Betty Lallone officiating.
