James George Kuzma

JAMES GEORGE KUZMA, 81, of Weirton, WV, passed away on July 10, 2025. Born on June 27, 1944, in Steubenville, Ohio, Jim was one of six children born to the late John and Mary (Redish) Kuzma. On June 6, 1964, Jim married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Anne Hindman. Together, they built a loving family and raised three children and had 4 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Jim dedicated 34 years of his life to Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, where he worked in the car repair shop at the mill. Known for his strong work ethic and even stronger will, he brought the same passion to his home life, where he was never one to sit still. He loved working in his large vegetable garden, cooking hearty meals for his family, spending time with his English Bull dog Riley and—true to his spirited nature—”raising hell” whenever he could. Family trips to Sea World and Geauga Lake were among Jim’s favorite memories, and he cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren. A man of faith, he was a member of Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church. Whether through generous donations or preparing food for church fundraisers, the church could always count on him for support. He had a fondness for Elvis Presley and often filled his home with the King’s music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce on August 9, 2001; his brothers Louis, Paul, and Michael Kuzma; his sister, Margaret Wise; and his son-in-law, Joe Thomaselli. He will be remembered with love by his son Bill Kuzma; daughters Jodi Thomaselli and Jara Bever (Tom). His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren: Anthony Thomaselli, Presley Truax, Garrett Bever, and Lexington Bever; and his great-grandchildren, Lennon Thomaselli and Dax Truax. Also surviving is his brother, John Kuzma (Josie), along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation was held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, july 14, 2025, with Rev. Jim Rhodes officiating. Jim was laid to rest beside his beloved wife at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association. Share tributes at www.grecohertnick.com.
