GEORGE ROBERT MAURER, JR., 46, of Colliers, WV died peacefully at home on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Born September 30, 1978, in Steubenville, OH a son of George Robert and Shirley May (Yaworski) Maurer, Sr. of Follansbee, WV. Georgie graduated from Brooke High School in 1996. He worked construction out of Laborer’s Union #809 out of Steubenville, OH. He was Catholic by faith. He enjoyed the peaceful confines of his home working in the garden, on his cars, feeding the animals, and fishing from time to time. In addition to his parents, Georgie is survived by two siblings, Sonya (Sam) Bailey and Travis Maurer, both of Follansbee, WV; one niece, Adrianna (Mac) Adams, and a nephew, Jakob (Maddy) Bailey; and his furry companions, Smokey and Piglet. There was no visitation. A private funeral liturgy of the word was held at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee, with the Rev. Father Gerald Muoka officiating.
