JERRY LEE ADAMS, 78, of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 with his family by his side at Country Club Manor in Steubenville, OH under the care of Valley Hospice. Jerry was born on July 27, 1947 in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Lloyd and Dorothy (Morrisson) Adams. In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by an infant brother, John Adams and sister Judith Reinacher. Jerry graduated from Wellsburg High School Class of 1965 and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he earned two Purple Hearts for his bravery in combat. He earned an associate degree from West Virginia Community College in Arts and Business and went on to learn Business Real Estate at Jefferson Community College, last Jerry earned his Bachelors degree from West Liberty State College. He was a member of the New Day Christian Center, The Vietnam Veterans Support Group of Steubenville, OH, Military Order of the Purple Heart, D. A. V.; Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, The Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad, and a proud little league baseball coach for many years. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Eileen (Atwell) Adams, whom he married on December 13, 1969; three sons: Matthew Scott (Angel) Adams, Christopher(Bonnie) Adams, and Daniel Adams; two brothers, Jeffery (Shelia) Adams and Joseph (Susan) Adams; his seven grandchildren whom he adored: Logan, Michael, Abbey, Mac, Aaron, Eean, and Ben; and two great grandchildren, Adylyn Adams and Roman Adams. Visitation was held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Mullenbach Funeral Home, Follansbee until the time of the Celebration of Life Service, with Pastor Angel Adams of the New Day Christian Center officiating..Inurnment was held privately at Brooke Cemetery. Full military honors were conducted by the U.S. Army and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
