BOB WHARTON, 71, of Weirton, WV passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, September 5, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bart and Wilma Wharton, as well as siblings, Linda Waide, Denise Decker, and Bartlett Wharton Jr. He was a devoted husband, father, and “Gbob,” who cherished his role as the heart of his family. For 52 years, he worked faithfully at the mill, where his strong work ethic and dedication left a lasting impression on his coworkers and community. For 51 years, he shared his life with his beloved wife, Michelle “Mickey” Wharton (Reardon). Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and memories. He was the proud father of Amy Dragisich (Steve) and Rob Wharton Jr. (Melanie), and the adoring grandfather of three grandsons-Kaden and Jaxen Dragisich, and Blake Wharton-who were his greatest joy. He could often be found cheering them on at every game, never missing a chance to celebrate their accomplishments. A true Steelers fan, he rarely missed a Sunday game and loved rooting for his team. He also treasured the family’s yearly beach vacations, where countless happy memories were made. More than anything, he enjoyed simply spending time with his family, who will forever carry his love in their hearts. Along with his wife, children, and grandsons, he is survived by his siblings Susan Ireland (Dennis), Becky Pope (Frank), Cathy Krnaich, Karen Wearsh (Greg) and brother and sister in laws- Mikey (Karen), Arlene, and John (Denise) Reardon as well as many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him. A visitation to celebrate his life was held at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 until time of the funeral service.
